Obituary for Edna Helen Rubicini (Vanagatt)

Rubicini, Edna:
Passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Freeport Health Centre at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Mario Rubicini (1988). She is predeceased by her parents Emma and George Vanagatt. Edna is sadly missed by her sons Larry (Bev), Dan (Jane), and David (Kim). Fondly remembered by her brother Ron (Deborah). Beloved grandmother to Amanda (Ben), Mark (Kerri), Mike, Jack, Derek and Andrea. Cherished great-grandmother to Lily, Adeline, Aria and Chloe. Edna cared deeply for all of her family and especially cherished the children. Edna lived an active life, always facing challenges with an independent spirit. She was an amazing cook. Her rigatoni and meatballs brightened many of our family gatherings. A heartfelt thank you to her compassionate caregivers at Freeport Health Centre.

Edna's family will receive relatives and friends from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A private family graveside service will be held at Woodland Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Grand River Hospital Foundation - Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
