I have known Mary Jo for over fifteen years since I first arrived at Laurier.. During that time she has always been so kind and considerate in her role as a human resources expert. It is just over 18 months ago that I lost my wife to cancer Mary Jo was one of the first people to contact me, and her kind words really meant a great deal to me at that time. I had the distinct pleasure of teaching her daughter, and we often talked about our children. I know that she was always extremely proud of her daughter's accomplishments and kept me up to date on what was going on in her life. I was heartbroken to hear of her passing this morning. I would have dearly liked to have attended services for such an incredible human being. Mary Jo was certainly one of the nicest, most caring and wonderful persons I have met during my life. My thoughts are with her family at this time. I know that her legacy of love will be felt forever through her family and her other family here at Laurier. She will be missed very much.
