Obituary for John William Koehler

Koehler, John William:

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John Koehler on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Freeport Health Centre at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Shirley (nee Traynor) for 65 years. Loving father of Kevin (Teresa), Brenda Gabet (Dale Boyd), Blake (Ellen), and Gregory (Corina Emde). Treasured Papa of 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Will be remembered by his sister-in-law, Rosemarie Dow and his many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents, Jack and Elsie Koehler (nee Pettitt) and his sister, Cavell Brown.

John retired from Ziegler Electric in 2002. He was a former resident of Morningside Retirement Community in New Hamburg. He loved the outdoors including golfing, boating and snowmobiling and was an avid lover of life.

John's family will receive relatives and friends from 11:30 - 12:45 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow. A private family interment at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Diabetes Canada would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
