Margaret Schnurr ( Kenkel)

Passed away on August 31 2018 at the age of 74. Margaret was born in Flin Flon Manitoba, and moved to Waterloo at the age of 2. She and her husband Gerry first met in high school and have been married over 52 years. Loving mother of Lorrie Curtis of Guelph (William), and Tim (Jennifer) of London. Kind and caring Nana to Mollie,Claire, and Rachel, Isabella and Jack. She will be sadly missed by her sister Frances Waechter of Kitchener. Predeceased by her parents Aloysius and Irma Kenkel, and brother Jim. She owned and operated the Cambridge Mary Brownʼs restaurant, having retired eight years ago. Margaret served the community for more than 5 years as a volunteer driver for Family & Children Services Waterloo Region.

Margaret's family will receive relatives and friends from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m on Wednesday, September 5th 2018, at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Parish prayers will happen at 8:30 p.m. Visitation will continue from 2:30 - 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, September, 6th, 2018. A service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 3:30 p.m. Reception to follow the service.

As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to Family & Children's Services of the Waterloo Region Foundation (donations can be made at the funeral home).
