Dear Family of Jeannie,
I remember growing up on Scott Street and many of the girls, bought what we then called "Eisenhauer" Jackets. . We bought green felt letters SSG at Mel Webers Sporting Goods store and put them on the back of the jacket. When anyone asked what it meant, we said, "Sweet, Simple and Girlish", but it realy was Scott Street Gang, although we weren't really a gang.
I remember spending time on the Powell Porch above Jeannies grandparents. Skating at Victoria Park was aways one of our great past times.
We played a lot of Hide and Go Seek and carved our initials in the big hydro pole on Pearl Place. We also did a lot of skip roping, double dutch etc.
All good memories of growing up. So sad for your loss. Love Carol
