CWOSSA Executive
As a valued and integral part of the CWOSSA Executive and Board of Directors, Ken acted as the CWOSSA Boys Rep to OFSAA, and served on the OFSAA Demographics Committee and the Transfer Eligibility Committee for many years. In all of his roles Ken spoke passionately and strongly about the importance of sports participation, physical activity, policies and governing bodies, and his impeccable memory served him very well over the years that he trained and collaborated with others who served with him on his many committees. Ken was often the person who directors turned to for advice and guidance either in their own districts or about pertinent OFSAA Sport Issues. He could always be relied upon to speak concisely, eloquently and with passion about the athletes, the issues and the importance of sport and he did not back down when he felt strongly about any issue that was being discussed.
Earlier this fall, CWOSSA nominated Ken for the COACHES ASSOCIATION OF ONTARIO 2014 “COACHING EXCELLENCE AWARD” based on his long time contributions to high school sport.
Ken’s experience, organization and leadership will be greatly missed, as it is very rare to find a person who has made such an impact in so many different areas and for so many years. He truly has left a legacy in CWOSSA High School Sport and for so many of us, he was also a valued friend whose caring spirit was an encouragement to everyone who worked with him.
Our CWOSSA Executive extends our condolences to Ken's wife Pamela and the entire VanderZwaag family.
