Opportunities Lost and Found

Hello Winter relatives! My thoughts are with each of you at this sad anniversary. I've thought of you often since the funeral service at St. John's, and I tried to get a message through to David's "kids" via a letter I left for the funeral home to address, so I'm please to have another chance to perhaps connect. I was going through family photos last week and found a lovely one of Sir James and Lady Winter and their family in St. John's. Reg is standing beside his father, and my grandmother, Ida, is there with the rest of the group of 8. I'd love to share this picture with anyone who'd like it, and I'd really like to get in touch with David's brothers, whom I'd met many years ago. I had only met David a few months before he died, and wish I had known him and your family long ago. We've lived in Kitchener for 34 years: it could have happened. Our daughter did her masters in biomechanics at UW. She certainly knew about David's major text. My husband, Gord, knew David through Probus, but hadn't realized the family connection. I know life is busy for young people and their families, but if you have time to send me an email, perhaps we can meet again. My sympathy and best wishes to you all! Daphne
