Just over a year ago my neighbour Vera Shartun passed away. Frequent trips to the casino in Elora in the past decade would always take us through Maryhill, to which she would always ask if we have passed John's house yet. She never shared the extent of her love and appreciation for the family but he certainly must have made a significant impact on hers. Sadly we never stopped in to visit (though I did offer) which I'm sure he would have really enjoyed.
