It with heavy heart to write this message. Karen was a friend for almost 50 years. She was an important part of our "High School" girlfriends and will be so missed and the remaining 5 of us will not be the same. We always looked forward to our annual get together and never missed it. We had one of our best visits this past fall with Karen. She was the strongest and most positive person I know. She was so lucky to have found Glen he completed her and stood by her side like no other. Rest in peace Karen. Our memories will keep you with us.

As I packed up Karen's possessions after her 5 year stay at Sunnyside, I had 3 staff members come in and pay their condolences. The physiotherapist, a PSW and a nurse expressed their sympathy. The PSW remarked that Karen loved "her man" and she was not afraid to let everyone know it. The nurse said that their's was a "special love story" and that he would miss both Karen and Glenn and he choked up as he said it. He loved to laugh at Karen's jokes and nicknames and looked forward to seeing her when he came on duty. The staff was good to Karen, particularly the night staff.
