I had the privilege of working with Walter through his admissions to Wilfrid Laurier University.In every one of our interactions he was kind, funny and a great person to have a conversation with. Walter would share with me all of the Public Safety events and organizations he was involved with, and it was clear he was a dedicated lifelong public servant. It came as a great shock to learn of Walter's passing.While I was stationed at Cambridge OPP he often came on patrol with me. It was nice to know I had my very own "Mr.911" along should we get sent to a more serious MVA.The nickname alluded to the fact that Walter quite amazingly represented all 3 branches of Emergency Services. Walter was always upbeat and outgoing and the Public we dealt with in the line of duty clearly liked him. I am so very sad that this kind man and former "comrade-in-arms" has died. Rest In Peace my friend Walter.

Walter was a student in the Master of Public Safety program that I coordinate. I first met Walter at the admission process and subsequently had him as a student in one of my courses. We used to chat frequently (even after my course) as Walter was highly engaged in his studies and always looking to improve. He often posted inspirational quotes & memes on discussion boards, and always was ready to assist other students. His positive approach will be sadly missed.

Walter, Thanks for all the years you trained our students about 1st aid and how to use a fire extinguisher. I will miss our chats as you always brought me up to speed every 5 weeks on your busy Life. Words are hard to come across when you lose someone of such great value. Uncle Walter I've got so many memories with you starting from as far back as I can remember and I will cherish all of them. It was an honour to have you in my life growing up and as an adult. You loved me and my family like your own.
