Obituary for David Hook

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at Freeport Health Center of Grand River Hospital in his 35th year.
Beloved husband of Jenna Neeb. Cherished son of Linda Koebel of Waterloo and Andy Hook and his partner Anne Holland of Kitchener. Loving brother of Geoffrey Hook and his wife Dawn of Kitchener. Dear uncle of Mitchell and Allison. Survived by his grandparents Margaret and Frank Koebel. Also survived by his aunt Judy McLachlan (Bill), uncle Reg Koebel (Lynn) and his uncle Ron Koebel (Diane). David will be sadly missed by his many friends, cousins and especially by his special friend Lara. Predeceased by his grandparents Davina and Alexander Hook.
David was a stand-up comedian and musician. He was the winner, in 1993, of “Yuk Yuk’s search for Canada’s Funniest New Comic”. He made audiences laugh across Canada and appeared on the Comedy Channel’s Club 54. He was an avid boxing fan and had a successful amateur career in the ring.
According to David’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. A small gathering is being planned for family and close friends to celebrate David’s life.
