Verch, Allen

Passed away peacefully at Trinity Village on Thursday, March 31, 2011, at the age of 94 years. Beloved husband of the late Ethel Grohofsky (1981). Loving father of Mary Justason of Round Lake Centre, Jean Verch of Toronto, Robert and his wife Nena Verch of Calgary and predeceased by a daughter Ruthann in infancy. Survived by seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents William and Mary (nee Becker) Verch. As well as siblings Gordon Kuehl, Hazel Ristau and Wilbert Kuehl and son-in-law Bill Justason.

Allen was a life time member of Benton Street Baptist Church and was instrumental in the development of the Sandhills Christian Community.

Allen’s family will receive relatives and friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral and committal services will be conducted at 2 pm. on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Benton Street Baptist Church, 90 Benton Street, Kitchener with Pastor Jim Reese officiating. Reception to follow at the church. Private interment at Woodland Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Benton Street Baptist Church or the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre – Patient Services would be appreciated by the family.
