Obituary for Ann Irene Henderson (Ciuciura)

Henderson, Ann (Ciuciura);

Left this world peacefully with her family at her side on Tuesday, November 19th, 2019, at the age of 72. Beloved mother to Rod and Don Henderson. Cherished grandmother to Abigail. Loved sister to Sylvia Ciuciura. Fondly remembered by her foster child John Crowe and many other foster children. Ann is the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (nee Draho) Ciuciura.

Ann was a foster mother "extraordinaire" and worked closely for many years with the Waterloo Region's Family and Children's Services and with Christian Horizons, Guelph. She opened her house to many boys that were in need of a loving home and a sense of belonging. A Mother's Day article that appeared in The Record states "She doesn't sugar-coat anything ... But it's how she says it. She sticks to it, but is forgiving". Ann will be lovingly remembered by her family and her many boys that she welcomed into her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clement's RC Church, 745 Duke Street, Cambridge on Saturday, December 14th, 2019 at 10 a.m. Ann's family will receive guests following Mass in the parish hall.
Private family interment has taken place at Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge.

Expressions of sympathy to the Kitchener- Waterloo Humane Society or the Family & Children Services of Waterloo Region would be greatly appreciated (cards available at the funeral home).
