Hodgson, James "Jim" William:
On Thursday, December 6th, 2018, James "Jim" Hodgson, aged 77, went home to be with the Lord.
Jim will be forever missed by his beloved wife Lee, of almost 49 years, children Tracy Hodgson-Taylor (Steve) and Lisa (Jeff) Dentinger.
Father figure to Chris (Debbie) Battler, David Battler, Debbie (Cam) Smith, Susy (Peter) Bruce, Eric Battler, Mike (Debbie) Battler, Greg (Simmy) Battler and Jennifer (Norm) Holman.
Cherished Papa of Caleb, Tysen, Hannah and Ethan, Mikayla, Luke and Ben, as well as Grandpa Hodgson to 17 wonderful grandchildren and 12 cherished great grandchildren.
Beloved brother of Sylvia, Bob and Christine.
Predeceased by his parents Bernard and Annie Hodgson, and sisters Dorothy and Olive.
Jim was born on May 22nd, 1941 in Barbon, England. He immigrated to Canada in 1966 and began his over 50 years of service to the tri-city area and beyond, providing quality carpet installation. The epitome of professional, Jim was an incredible craftsman in his field, providing services for many long time and loyal customers. He also served as a mentor to others in carpet installation.
Jim was an incredibly humble, hardworking, dedicated and inspirational man. He was the pillar of strength for his family and will be dearly missed.
The family would like to sincerely thank the emergency first responders: Kitchener Fire Department, EMS, Waterloo Regional Police and the ER staff and chaplain at Grand River Hospital for their efforts and support the evening of December 6th.
Jim's family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 13th, 2018 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A funeral service will be held at Benton Street Baptist Church 90 Benton St. Kitchener on Friday, December 14th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow.
