Passed away peacefully with family at his side at Freeport Campus of Grand River Hospital on Monday, December 3, 2018 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Betty Jane for 57 years. Loving father of Shelley Forwell, Tracy Schneider (Mike Wigzell) and Scott Forwell (Kim). Cherished Grampa of Caroline and Leah Charbonneau, Tyler and Adam Schneider, and Shayne, Wesley and Jesse Forwell. Son of the late Leo and Mary Forwell. Dear brother of Ruth Schnarr and the late Leo, Ken, Donald, Raymond, Joe, Art, Walter, Anna Marie Nafziger, Madeline Dietrich, Norbert Farwell, Roland, Catherine Hess and Margaret. Uncle Eddy will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and their families. He will also be missed by his many friends, including the Black Wednesday Fishing Club and the members of Billy and the Beer Belly Band. Ed was the proud owner of Forwell Super Variety for 57 years and will be greatly missed by staff and customers. He enjoyed hockey, golf, spending time with family at the cottage, fishing and playing his harmonica. Ed had a real love for life, and had a positive impact on so many people.
Ed's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2018 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Prayers 3:30 p.m. Friday. Funeral Mass at St. Teresa's RC Church, 44 Leonard St., on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow at Golf's Steakhouse.
