Pat & family - I'd like to share short story about one of Fox's fishing adventures in Alaska. We went to deep creek fishing for King Salmon one July day and as fishing was slow it was great to have Fox hook into a really nice one. He was excited and reeled that fish in close to the boat only to have it take off again, way out from the boat. Fox worked and reeled it back, but a passing boat fishing next to us got his line caught in their windshield & was pulling it into a v shape before they realized it. They finally grabbed the line & flipped it up over their boat and behind them as they went by, and limp line! Fox reel some more until he had it tight and playing the fish again. Then his reel (which had no auto level wind) piled all the string into one spot on the spool acting like a brake to the point it wouldn't reel anymore! What agony as the line went limp on the water again Fox worked to free up the line, several minutes later he got it free. By then the line layed on top of the water limp & curving away from the boat! All good fishermen know if you give a big fish slack line they get away! Wow! he reeled the line up tight and the fish was still hooked! After much reeling give and take with the fish he got it up next to the boat ! I tried to net it but the fish was too big! It only fit part way into the net and slipped out the first try, but the second attempt we both got it in the net & lifted it into the boat! Wow 52 lbs & 52 inches long!! That day was one of Fox's proudest & fondest days of fishing. The story was told over & over again! The weight always grew by 2-3 lbs and I always had to correct him. We had many laughs over that Great day of fishing. I will miss my best fishing pal. Tom

Dear Pat and family ~ we were saddened to hear of the passing of Mike (Uncle Mikey was what we called him!) Our heartfelt thoughts to you all at this time. I am glad to hear that he isn’t suffering any longer and what a legacy he has left with his life and touched so many people. He was a part of our lives for as long as I can remember. I know that when I was 5 he played the guitar and sang “Moon Shadow” to me :). Many Blazer games, hockey games, Sunday night dinners out and boat rides over the years with him here in Portland. Such a sweet and caring soul, he will be missed by many. I’m glad that you and your family came into his life at the perfect time. Love, Corey and Mindy Hill and family
