Darby, Alfred "Ed"
passed away peacefully at Clair Hills Retirement Residence on Monday, December 3, 2018 in his 97th year. Beloved husband of Jane for 66 years (deceased 2011). Loving father of Jim Darby (Beth), Anne Dodd (Bill) and Sue Welna (Gary). Cherished Poppa of Chris (Mili), Steven (Amanda), Sarah and Emily (Fernando). Ed will be missed by his great-grandchildren Maddy, Jimmy, Parker, Ellie and Lily. Dear brother of Audrey, Godfrey and the late Pat. At Ed's request there will be neither visitation nor service. Private cremation arrangements entrusted to the Henry Walser Funeral Home (519) 749-8467. Donations in Ed's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society (cards available at the funeral home). We would like to extend our condolences to Anne and William Dodd, Jim and Beth Darby, and Sue and Gary Welna on the passing of your father Edward. We would also like to extend our condolences to Edward and Jane's grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

We had the pleasure of getting to know and spend time with Edward, Jane and Charlie both at their home with their respective family as well as, at our home.

There are many fond memories that we have of our time together however, those that have deeply touched us include family dinners, discussions and debates, playing euchre, listening to Edward and Jane reminisce about the war and sharing many laughs.

Edward, we would like to wish you a peaceful journey as you reunite with Jane and Charlie. May you rest in peace. You will be deeply missed, but you will always be remembered by your extended family.
