Passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at the age of 68.
Beloved dad of Charles David, Christine Anne, Carrie-Ann and John James
Cherished Grandpa to Olivia, Adalaine, Sylvia, Andrew, Samantha, Matthew, Derek, Alex, Kezia, Chance and Nicole-Marie
Great- Grandpa to Austin, Zeus and Arielle.
Special brother to James Ratch, Gayle Ostrom (Lackenbauer) and Beverly Ostrom
Uncle to Dawn Lynn Harrison, Peggy Lee Strack, Patrick Jamie Strack, Darcy Bourque, Lorne Ostrom Jr., Robert Ostrom and Kristoffer Ostrom.
Predeceased by his parents James Arnold Ostrom and Emma Melissa Ostrom (nee Walker) and niece Victoria.
Charlie loved to ride his motorcycle up till he couldn’t anymore ... he liked to watch wrestling and Survivor each week....he was diligent in playing the same numbers for his weekly lottery tickets and was convinced that one of these days he would cash in... he liked sitting with the neighbours around the fire strumming his guitar and singing a few bars of “I’m Alright, nobody worry about me” to name just a few in his repertoire of songs ... he always told people his middle name was George and that “they named 2 kings” after him ... Charlie always said “Come get your Free Smiles” to everyone...
Cremation has taken place.
As per Charlie's request a celebration of life will take place on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Tributes and memories will be shared at 11:15 a.m.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to a Charity of choice would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
