Fedy, Joseph John

Passed away peacefully, at Grand River Hospital, surrounded by family on Thursday, November 8, 2018 in his 90th year.

Loving father of Tim (Cathy), Jen Denomme (Rich) and Julia Fedy (Russell).

Special Poppy (Pops) to Sarah White (Chris), Stephen and Peter Fedy, Chantry and Lily Denomme, Denton and Stella Rodrigues.

Predeceased by his wife Jane Fedy (2002).

Dear brother of Don Fedy (Carolyn), Mary Ash (Dick) and brother-in-law of Ed Louttit and Alan Halberstadt (Susan).

Joseph will be missed by dear friend Jennifer Edwards and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Predeceased by his parents Ralph and Louise (nee Oberle) Fedy and sister Dorothy Louttit.

Joseph, along with Art Walter, was an original and founding partner of the Walter, Fedy engineering firm in 1960. He was a Past President of the Westmount Golf and Country Club and one of its longest-standing members for over 63 years. Joseph enjoyed reading, traveling, golf and spending time at the cottage in Port Elgin and winters in Florida. He was also a member of the Rotary Club and involved in various other charitable organizations throughout his life.

Joseph's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, November 12, 2018 from 7-9 pm and on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener 519-749-8467. Parish prayers 8:45 pm Tuesday evening.

The Funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 am on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church, 173 Lourdes St., Waterloo followed by a reception at the Westmount Golf and Country Club.

Private interment Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Waterloo Region Catholic Schools Foundation -Clarke Young Legacy Fund in support of youth participation in sports would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
