Obituary for Marion Kathryn Pinnell (Downey)

Marion Kathryn Pinnell (Downey)
Pinnell, Marion Kathryn
1933-2018

With style and grace, laughter and tears, our wonderful mother Marion Kathryn Pinnell passed from this world on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 to reunite with her husband Wray Pinnell (2006).

The mother of seven children - from early childhood, she raised Tanis Mullin of Stratford and Jackie Clayfield (Don) of Waterloo, before being blessed by Pam Barker (John) of New Hamburg; Ken Pinnell (Judy) of Victoria, B.C.; Glenn Pinnell (Diane) of Brantford; Kathy Pinnell of Kitchener and Robert Pinnell of Owen Sound to create a blended family years before it would become commonplace.

Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great-Grandmother - she has left behind a legacy of uniquely talented and loving individuals. Sadly missed by her sister Alice Steckley, brother Gerald Downey (Ruby) and sister-in-law Mildred Burrows.

Predeceased by her sister Dorothy Lane and her husband Russell, in-laws Edward Steckley, Carol Downey, Ena and Jack Hill, Glen and Bea Pinnell, Dorothy and Ron Dishman and Robert Burrows.

She leaves behind her beloved cat, Chester, who gave her a reason to fight through her many health battles.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 12 noon until 12:45 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467.

The Funeral Service will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 7th in the chapel of the funeral home followed by a reception.

Marion's daughter-in-law Rev. Diane Pinnell officiating.

Interment Kincardine Cemetery will take place on Monday, July 9th at 11 a.m.

While Mom was interested in many causes, first and foremost was mental health and donations to Canadian Mental Health Association, Waterloo Wellington Dufferin would be appreciated.
