Rothmar, Dr. Eric
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Eric Rothmar on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He passed with family by his side.
Eric was the beloved husband of Joy for 50 years and the loving father of Tyler and Lindsay. He leaves behind extended family in Montreal, Australia and Denmark, as well as many wonderful friends all over the world.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, in 1944, Eric was the middle son of Kaj and Marie Jeanne Rothmar and the brother of Paul Rothmar (predeceased) and Alan Rothmar. Having married in 1968, Joy and Eric spent four years travelling the world. After returning to Canada, Eric graduated from the University of Waterloo with a PhD in Clinical Psychology, and went on to practice as a clinical psychologist in the K-W area for more than 20 years. He was always passionate about helping others.
Visitations and a funeral service will be held at Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, ON. Visitations will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, September 14. A service will be held on Saturday, September 15, at 11 a.m.
Heartfelt thanks go out to the staff at the Grand River Hospital Foundation - Cancer Centre and Innisfree House Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to these excellent facilities (cards available at the funeral home). We also wish to extend sincere thanks to CCAC staff.

Eric is deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
