Obituary for Ghulam Farooq Haqbeen

Haqbeen, Ghulam Farooq:
Passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at his home at the age of 73. Beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was a kind human being and was generous to his family and friends. He lived his life for others.

Mr. Haqbeen is a widely recognized person for Afghan, inside the country as well as Afghan diasprorah around the world for his 50 years of involvement: preaching social, political and economic equality; participation for the masses in social life; a tireless preacher for genuine Islamic and national values; a pioneer resistance leader against the Russian Invasion during the 1980's; spent 7 years in Pulcharkhi notorious jail and a human and women's rights activist. He was the representative of Afghan enlightenment renaissance and modernization.

Ghulam's family will receive relatives and friends at the Waterloo Masjid, 213 Erb St., Waterloo on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. followed by interment in Parkview Cemetery.
