Obituary for Frances Quinn (Kiley)

Frances Catherine Quinn (nee Kiley) was born in Prospect, Nova Scotia on June 25, 1926, and died fighting to the end on Feb. 13, 2018, at 91 years old. Predeceased by her parents Jerome and Mary Kiley, sister Anna and brothers Murray, Ken and Bill, her husband George and son Peter. Loved by her sister Mary, her sons Michael, David & Cindi, Danny & Fran, Patrick & Heather and her grandchildren Brendan & Caileigh, Lindsay & Rebecca, Jamie & Charli and her great-grandson Leon.

The most adventurous time in Frances' life was when she was a Ship-to-Shore Operator in Halifax during World War II. It was there that she met her future sparring partner, the handsome George Quinn. After the war she moved to Toronto and then to Mississauga where she continued her next great adventure of raising five sons. The sons married and produced six grandchildren where the tide had turned and five were girls and Frances was tickled pink.

There will be a private family service for Frances at the Home where we will bid a fond farewell.

Cremation has taken place.

Thank you to the wonderful staff at Parkwood Nursing Home and the doctors and nurses at Grand View Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimers Society would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, Ontario N2B 2A5 (Donations can be made at the funeral home)
