Obituary for Mary Rita Quinn

Quinn, Rita M. (nee Bertrand)

Passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Grand River Hospital at the age of 100.

Born and raised in Thunder Bay, ON.
Daughter of the late Emil and Adel Bertrand.
Predeceased by her husband James Quinn (1973), her daughter Anita Steffler (1979) and her son James Quinn (2007).
Also predeceased by five brothers and one sister.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters Diane Quinn of Kitchener and Maureen Jessome (Dean) of Florida and her grandchildren.

Rita was a dedicated wife and mother. She was a successful small business owner.

We thank the staff at Sunnyside Home (Shantz Hill) for their compassionate care of Rita and we also thank her dedicated volunteer Julie.

Rita's family will receive relatives and friends from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. with prayers offered at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2016 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A Roman Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 56 Duke St. W., Kitchener on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery, Waterloo, followed by a reception at the funeral home.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of choice would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
