Power, Hattie:
Hattie’s engaging and uplifting spirit was with her until she passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018 at the age of 90.
Hattie was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia on December 29th, 1927. She was the youngest child of the MacKenzie clan, and is predeceased by her siblings Isabel McNeil (Jim), Tena Lund (John), Howard MacKenzie (Pearl), Pearl Fisher ("Bunny" George) and Kenneth MacKenzie (Mary).
Hattie and her sister Tena moved to Ontario, and the love of Hattie’s life followed her to Kitchener shortly after. She was married to the late Gregory Power (2005) for 53 happy years. Her proudest accomplishment was her three children, Gayle Davis (Richard), Stephen Power (Rosemary) and Christopher Power. She was the treasured Nana of Kelly, Kaitlyn, Brent and Brooke. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Hattie’s kind and inquisitive nature will be missed by her many friends. Whether you were a friend of decades or a few minutes, she loved nothing more than hearing your story and getting to know you better.
Cremation has taken place.
Hattie's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Visitation will continue on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 10-10:45 a.m., a service will follow in the chapel at 11 a.m.
Interment at Memory Gardens.
