Keyes, Ruth Idella (nee Mohr):
Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of family on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Chartwell Westmount Long Term Care at the age of 96.
Beloved wife of the late George Amos Keyes (1992). Loving mother of "Merv" Merwyn, Sharon Fast (Werner), Dailen (Laurie), Arlen (Jennifer). Grandmother of Jason Keyes, Cheryl Waugh (Andrew), Melanie Shantz (Dave), Lindsay Fast (Ryan Crawford), Stephanie Fast (Adam Staszewski), Taylor Keyes, Allison Keyes, Rachel Rohr (Matthew), Bryton Keyes (Kristyn), Shaylyn Keyes and Weston Keyes. Great-grandmother of Kailey and Lucas Shantz, Jane Waugh and Brooklyn Crawford. Ruth will be missed and remembered by her nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her brother Oliver Mohr, and sisters Ethel Legge (Mansford Legge) and Stella Sherk (Willard Sherk).
Ruth was a member of Benton Street Baptist Church for over 60 years, where she met and married her husband, George Amos.
Ruth's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, October 14, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener 519-749-8467. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2019. Reception to follow. Interment at Woodland Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Benton St. Baptist Church or Gideons International In Canada would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
