Obituary for Sheila Mary Halley (McCarthy)

HALLEY, SHEILA Mary (nee McCarthy):
Beloved wife of the late John Halley (January 20, 2003) whom she married October 4, 1949. Loving mother of Linda (Des) Courtney, Donna (Mark) Wills and John (Maryna) Halley. Much loved Nanny of Sheila, Leo, Desmond, Kevin, Kathleen, Leah, Lauren, Stefanie, John Joseph Halley III and great-grandmother of Linda, Nicholas, Felix, William and Maeve. She is survived by her sister Mary Clark, brother-in-law George Banaska, and sister-in-law Karin McCarthy.
Predeceased by her parents, Judge John McCarthy and Gertrude McCarthy, brothers, John Jr. (WWII), Kevin and William, and sisters, Eileen, Gertrude and Barbara, an infant son as well as a large extended family.
Sheila was a longtime member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church and the CWL of the Church. She was employed at the Royal Bank in St. John’s NFLD for many years.
Sheila’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. with parish prayers at 8 p.m. Prayers will be offered in the Funeral Home on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 9:20 a.m. followed by a procession to St. Teresa's Roman Catholic Church, 44 Leonard St., Kitchener for Sheila’s Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. celebrated by Fr. Tom Moisan. Reception to follow at the church. A private family interment will be held at Woodland Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Teresa's R.C. Church, the War Amps Champ Program or Lisaard House would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
