Lockau, Marie Emilie (nee Chapman)
Born on January 9, 1922, Marie passed away peacefully at Chartwell Nursing Home in Elmira on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 in her 97th year. Predeceased by her first husband Joseph Kieswetter (1955) and second husband William Lockau (1989). Beloved mother of Deanna and her husband Louis Warzecha. Grandmother of Lee-Anne Warzecha and her partner Ian Spence, and Krista Warzecha. Great-grandmother of Sydney Michelle Varga and Erin Spence. Daughter of the late Barbara and Harold Chapman. Predeceased by her sisters Jean Jamieson (Oct. 2013) and Audrey Chapman, in infancy. Aunt to Patricia Coulson (Terry), Terry Kittel (Judy), Donna Patterson, Don Kittel (Judi) and Brian Kittel (Jean). Marie will be remembered for her social get-togethers with friends and relatives, and her love of knitting and embroidery. Her family extends sincere thanks to all the staff at Chartwell Residences Long Term Care in Elmira, for taking such good care of Marie for the past seven years, where she received expert support in her daily life. The friendship she has encountered by all staff has been of great assistance to her family.
Marie's family will receive relatives and friends from 5:30-6:15 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, (519) 749-8467. Memorial Service in the Chapel on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. The family will have a celebration of Marie's life at her daughter and son-in-law's home following the service.
