Malko, Maria:
Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family, on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the age of 90.
Beloved wife of the late Alexander Malko (1996). Loving mother of George, Borys (Olya), Olesia Langermann (Rainer), Irene Grasser (Tom) and Mark (Helga). Cherished grandmother of Stephanie Folz (Don), Michael Malko (Nicole), Robert Malko, Tamara Hunt (Nicholas), and Nicolas Malko. Maria was born in Orochiwczyk, Ukraine. She worked at JM Schneiders for over 10 years.
Maria was a faithful member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Transfiguration, the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League and the Zustrich Senior's Club. Thank you to Dr. Quartermain and Dr. Benaroia for the many years of compassionate care given to Maria and to the Care Partner nurses for your ongoing support.
Maria's family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. & Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Panakhyda 7 p.m. Sunday evening. Panakhyda will also be held Monday, October 30, 2017 at 10 am at the funeral home followed by a procession to Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Transfiguration, 131 Victoria St S, Kitchener, where a funeral Mass for Maria will take place at 10:30 a.m. Interment Woodland Cemetery with reception to follow at the Ukrainian Catholic Centre, 15 Michael St., Kitchener.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Children of Chernobyl, the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Ukrainian Catholic Church of Transfiguration would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
