Condolences

Condolence From: Drew Smith
Condolence: I studied my PhD under Dave's supervision (1982-86) and he was not only my mentor but my friend. I want to pass on my sincere condolences to his family. He touched my life in so many ways that I cannot truly express my gratitude in his being a part of my life. He will be missed but never forgotten.

He was a great researcher and a world class scientist. The world of
Biomechanics is left empty after his departure.

Condolence From: LeGault family
Condolence: Our deepest condolences to the Winter family on their loss. Mr. Winter helped guide me into Engineering at Waterloo - I had no idea what Engineering was and at an important moment in my life, he was there to guide me. As I went through the program we had many running jokes over how engineering had changed through the years - like how I didn't know how to use a slide rule (and never needed to). He had a great sense of humour and he and Mrs. Winter were always welcoming. He will be deeply missed by many.

Condolence From: Donald Ross, member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Kitchener
Condolence: David and I often shared a story or two after Church Service on Sunday Mornings. He was very kind to lend me a Canadian History DVD which I enjoyed and we had fun discussing the events and how well it had been documented.
My prayers and thoughts are with the family at this time.

Condolence From: Bud & Lee White, Vancouver, BC
Condolence: David was a prominent and much-loved member of "The New One Hundred" -- the class that re-opened the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) following WW2 & graduated 6o years ago in 1952. He was a close friend, "best man" at our wedding; and a fine Naval Engineering Officer. He will be much missed -- not only by Lee & I -- but also by every member of our RMC Class & he will be in the forefront of our thoughts during our upcoming Class Reunion in October.

Condolence From: Carol A Oatis
Condolence: I never had the good fortune to meet David Winter personally. However I have followed his research closely and introduced his work to countless physical therapy students. His work helped to ignite the physical therapy's focus on biomechanics. He will be missed by many! My thoughts are with his family and friends.
